DEBATE TEAM
Debate is an academic activity that offers a variety of benefits and develops a range of essential skills for successful professionals. Students who participate in debates develop analytical, critical thinking, public speaking, research, writing and summarizing, and effective communication skills in a way that few, if any, other activities can provide.
Students who become debaters are extremely well-qualified citizens who can understand, analyze, and design innovative solutions to complex problems.
Debaters learn to exchange ideas and accept others' points of view. New Horizons Bilingual School's principles of excellence, flexibility, perseverance, and innovation are aligned with the skill set necessary for effective debate.
In this club our students will be able to:
- Manage the format, etiquette, and general strategies of the Public Forum.
- Managing frameworks and definitions.
- Apply advanced case building techniques.
- Identify the main fallacies.
- Learn to adapt to the judges.
