The Preschool at New Horizons aims to contribute to the integral development of the child, providing experiences and learning opportunities that promote the optimal development of their skills and competencies to achieve a harmonious development process in all its dimensions: socio-emotional, cognitive and expression and communication.
Students are key players in the construction of their own knowledge, actively interacting with their environment and being exposed to experiences that promote their critical and reflective thinking skills, in an environment that considers happiness, healthy self-esteem and a good values education as essential elements for the integral development of the child.
The activities include:
Creative drawing and writing, group meeting, small group and large group activities, work stations by area of interest, gross and fine motor skills, sensory activities and neurosensory development exercises, story time or literature, project time, play-work, music, art, recreational games and technology.
In Preschool, the CPAA assessment is administered to evaluate students' progress in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics, the effectiveness of current programs, and the detection of needs for individual attention and follow-up that may be required.
New Horizons preschool is made up of five grades according to the age reached in December of the year of entry:
Toddlers I: 9 months to 1 year of age
Toddlers II: 2 years old
Pre-Kindergarten: 3 years old
Kindergarten: 4 years old
Pre-Primary: 5 years of age
