New Horizons School students in Santo Domingo and Santiago complete the academic year with a strong multicultural education and internationally recognized standards.
Dominican Republic, June 2026. – A total of 92 students from New Horizons School (NHS), representing the Aluxia graduating class in Santo Domingo and the Avalia graduating class in Santiago, have strengthened their academic prospects both nationally and internationally by securing admission to prestigious universities across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Dominican Republic. This achievement marks the culmination of a demanding academic journey and a comprehensive educational experience, demonstrating the impact of a multicultural educational model designed to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
The graduating cohort, made up of 71 students from Santo Domingo and 21 from Santiago, is set to pursue higher education in leading destinations around the world, including the United States, Canada, Spain, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. This achievement reflects the strength and global reach of the school's university counseling program.
In this regard, Diego Sánchez, General Director of the institution, stated: “The growth of our students is the greatest reflection of our mission. Each graduate carries not only a strong academic foundation, but also the confidence, curiosity, and tools needed to continue learning, leading, and contributing to the world.”

Their academic journey was supported by a curriculum accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), which seamlessly integrates Advanced Placement (AP) courses, the U.S. Common Core State Standards, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), while remaining fully aligned with the official curriculum of the Dominican Republic.
During the formal ceremonies, the school presented its highest academic honors, recognizing Cristina Jauregui Mateo as salutatorian at the Santo Domingo campus, and Francesca Cavagliano Martínez and Diego José Peña Matos as valedictorians. In Santiago, the Avalia graduating class will soon celebrate its graduation ceremony, where Isabela García Cid and Sheila Isabel Mercado will be recognized for their academic excellence.
The New Horizons School community also extended its heartfelt gratitude to the families, teachers, school psychologists, academic staff, and the College Counselor for their unwavering support and personalized guidance throughout the students' educational journey.
